Tools
Tools. You gotta love tools. For some reason, I never feel bad about buying tools. Money well spent.
With that in mind, I set out to purchase some bench tools for the project. I ended up shelling out my money at Sears. I could have bought substantially the same products at Harbor Freight for a little less money, but I like the customer service at Sears and the fact that they will stand behind their products in the event that something breaks.
Based on what others have recommended, I ended up with the following:
Bandsaw from Sears - $149.00
Drill Press from Harbor Freight - $90
Bench Grinder (Adjustable Speed) from Sears - $69.00
This is the workbench I made. I plan on building another EAA-style workbench before I start constructing the empennage.
I got this toolbox at my local Sam's Club for $299.00 - it's very sturdy, has ball bearning drawers, brakes on the wheels, and comes with drawer liners.
Belt Sander from Sears -
Tungsten .5" x 1" x 4" bucking bar from
Midwest Tungsten
- $65.00. The corners are sharp so I'll have to round them. Much lower price for tungsten bucking bar then I've found elsewhere.
