OCT 07 - Began HS Skin
Riveting - 1.5 Hours
I started out by riveting one of the ribs to the top of
the left skin. This is definately the hardest part of the HS Skin riveting process,
especially if you are riveting alone. You have to reach pretty far into the skin
with one hand on the bucking bar and the other on the rivet gun and try to avoid
any tilt. My small tungsten bucking bar really came in handy on this part. I'm not
sure I would have been able to do it correctly without it.
One technique I found useful is to cleco the front hole on the bottom of the skin.
Otherwise the skin will not sit flush with the rib on the front hole on the top
of the skin.

Sorry for the low-res pictures. My wife had the camera for the night. You can see
here how the cleco holds the top of the skin against the rib.

Beginning to rivet the bottom of the skin on. The rear rib is only in place here
to facilitate
the riveting of the front rib and hold everything tight.
