Deburring and Edge Finishing - 2.0 Hours
No pictures for tonight. Just spent a few hours in the shop edge finishing and deburring.
I have one skin left to edge finish and deburr and then I'll dimple everything.
I received my new
3/32" tank dimple die set from Cleveland Tool. I will use the tank dimple
dies (which produce a slightly deeper dimple) on the understructure as I have heard
the DRDT-2 does not make as deep a dimple as a C-Frame dimpler. I will post my results
once the rivets are in.
I have a pattern down for skin edge finishing: I use the double-cut mill file first
for heavy removal, then the single cut file to smooth, emery cloth to polish, and
then a few passes with a scotch-brite pad to shine. This method leaves the edges
very smooth with no visible marks.
I should have sufficient time this coming weekend to get everything primed and assembled.
