12 SEP 07 - Trimmed and Bent HS-810/814-1 Reinforcement
Angles - 1.5 HRS
I received my .5" x 1" x 4" tungsten bucking bar from
Midwest Tungsten today. The edges are sharp but I will smooth them out.
It was only $65.00, which is a huge bargain over prices I have seen for similar
bars elsewhere.

Bucking Bar. I used a tungsten bar at the
EAA Sportair
Class and I plan on using this one as much as possible on my plane.
I also decided I needed an organized way of storing my rivets, so I picked up 2
bin organizers from Harbor Freight for $9.00 ea. Mounted one on the wall for rivets.
I also bought a label maker on E-bay so I could print some labels for it.
Then I got down to business. First things first, I marked and trimmed HS-810-1 and
HS-814-1 reinforcement angles. I used the sander on the smaller one and the bandsaw
for the larger one. Then I used the milling file to smooth, then the scotch-brite
wheel.

One of these things is not like the other...
Once they were both oh so smooth, I clamped the ends between two pieces of 2x4 in
the vice, and bent the ends.

I used a protractor to measure the angle and just bent a degree at a time. Works
like a champ.
